On June 17, the greatness of choral music spread in the Chamber Hall of the Šiauliai Cultural Center - the traditional choral music festival "Peaceful, Pleasant Summer Nights" took place here, organized by the Chamber Choir of the Šiauliai Cultural Center "Vasara" (artistic director Kornelijs LuŹė) - an active member of the Šiauliai City Music Center a participant in life, who has visited a considerable number of concert halls and churches in Lithuanian cities and towns with concert programs, and has performed many times abroad.

"The festival of choral music "Calm, pleasant summer nights" has been organized since 2004. We are very pleased that there is continuity and interest in the event until today. After all, choral music unites people for active creative activities, unites their feelings and thoughts", says the organizer of the festival, the artistic director of the Chamber Choir "Vasara" of the Šiauliai Culture Center, Kornelijs Luote.

Choirs from Latvia participated in the event - the joint project choir assembled by the famous Latvian conductor Eriks Kravalis came directly from Riga, where the singers of the choirs "Fēnikss" and "Dziesmu pasts" (conductors Ēriks Kravalis, Aivars Gailis, concertmaster Valdis Zilveris) sang. The men's vocal ensemble of the Riga and VEF Chamber of Culture (conductor Ēriks Kravalis) also took part. Choirs performed sonorous and majestic folk songs, as well as songs about the natural beauty of Latvia.

For the first time, the mixed choir "Libro" of the Vilnius Karoliniškii borough, founded in 2008, led by choir director Lilijana Zarankienė (director Lilijana Zarankienė, concertmaster Jarūnė Barkauskaitė) took part in the celebration, which presented sonorous, harmonized Lithuanian folk songs and other works.

The most beautiful works "Rainbow over the Nemunas", "Prie Šventosios", "Night", "I've been looking for a long time" were presented on the stage by the chamber choir of the Šiauliai Cultural Center "Vasara" (artistic director Kornelijs LuŹė).

At the end of the event, the joint choir closed the celebration with the joint songs "Kur giria žalioaja", "Vējeli, pūsk" and the well-known song "Our days as a holiday".

"I want to thank all those who participated, thanks to whom the songs revealing the beauty of Lithuania and Latvia, performed sincerely, sounded. We hope that next year we will also organize a festival of choral music, which will be the jubilee - the fifteenth", thanks K. Luote, artistic director of the Chamber Choir "Vasara" of the Šiauliai Cultural Center.
