The Šiauliai Cultural Center birthday party will give the city a "La La Land" mood

In 2023 on July 13th 6.30 p.m. The Šiauliai Cultural Center's birthday party will be held on the shores of Lake Talkša. The festival, which has already become a tradition, will delight the people of Šiauliai this year with a never-before-seen Kristupas festival program concert, picnic, photo exhibition, big outdoor games, a snapshot and the highlight of the birthday - a cake. The organizers of the event hope that "A Date in La La Land" will take the listeners not only to well-known movies with its music, but will also create a cozy atmosphere for the guests entertaining at the birthday party.

The Šiauliai Cultural Center has been operating since 1946. For seventy-seven years, the institution has given fans of events both big and small cultural and entertaining holidays, festivals or gatherings that nurture traditions and Lithuanianness, and the growing number of visitors to city events every year only proves that culture is needed in Šiauliai.

This year, the exclusive birthday celebration will move to the shores of Lake Talkša, which will turn into the famous "La La Land", otherwise known as the world of dreams, for one evening. Here, the Kristupas Festival, which creates musical sounds, will give the townspeople the most beautiful and sensitive moments of the movie hits "La La Land" and "A Star is Born", which will always be presented by a player who does not shy away from playing with styles and genres. The original, nominee of the prestigious Opus Klassik award, Ieva Dūdaitė (piano) and her sister, the charismatic performer Marija Dūdaitė (vocals). "Maria and I have a special bond that unfolds on stage in improvisation, acting, and play. Because we understand each other without words, right here, on the spot, we create so many effective things for the audience that I wouldn't even think about with another stage partner. We even include a concert space in the performance. However, I won't reveal what and how Talkša lake inspired me," intrigues pianist Ieva Dūdaitė.

During the entire event, it will be possible to take pictures in a photo booth specially set up for the birthday. A symbolic memory - a snapshot - guests will be able to collect immediately. A photo exhibition will also create a festive atmosphere, where you can see the moments of the events that took place in the city, recognize the employees of the Šiauliai Cultural Center or Šiauliai residents and guests of the city attending the events. It is expected that both guests who want to spend time quietly and those who like to be entertained will find a place on the shore of Lake Talkša, because here big and small birthday guests will be able to try big outdoor games, and those looking for peace will sit comfortably and relax while listening to the dreamy program of the Kristupas festival concert, which has never been in Šiauliai before.

A birthday is unimaginable without feasts and gifts. The most important highlight of every birthday is the cake. "This year, we will treat our guests with an original and very tasty birthday delicacy, which, as we promise, will surprise you not only with its taste, but also with its appearance," intrigues the organizers.

Everyone is welcome at the celebration: both young and old. Visitors are encouraged to come to the celebration with relatives, friends or pets, bring chairs, blankets, so that they can sit cosy and comfortable. This evening is expected to engage each visitor in new and deep conversations, while the warm and soulful music will transport them to a dreamy "La La Land" of their own making.
