The chords of freedom sounded at the concert "Lithuanians are we born"

In 2024 February 15 The cultural center of Šiauliai held a traditional concert "We are born Lithuanians". The event dedicated to the Day of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania brought together residents of Šiauliai and guests of the city, radiated a sense of unity and commitment to protect and nurture Lithuanian values. At the concert organized by the chamber choir "Vasara" of the Šiauliai Cultural Center, there were emotional, patriotic songs that reminded us that every Lithuanian is a part of a great and strong nation.

The celebration of February 16 - the Day of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania in the city of Šiauliai began on the eve. February 15 a crowd of people flocked to the Chamber Hall of the Šiauliai Culture Center to listen to patriotic, heart-pounding songs - the concert "We are born Lithuanians" was held here for many years.

Memorable and sensitive moments at the concert were provided by the event organizer Šiauliai Culture Center's Chamber Choir "Vasara" (art director K. LuŹė, accompanist R. Ragauskaitė). The program was enriched by other ensembles of the Šiauliai Cultural Center - the chamber choir "Bičiuliai" (artistic director R. Daukantaitė, accompanist J. Deveikytė), the vocal group of the folk dance ensemble "Kalatinis" (concertmaster S. Giedrė). The guests of the event also created a pleasant atmosphere: the mixed choir "Ventus" of the Šiauliai District Municipal Cultural Center (conductor H. Mockienė, accompanist D. Streckienė), the third-grade boys' choir of Šiauliai "Dagilėlio" singing school (teacher R. Koržanovienė, accompanist L. Girskienė), the women's choir of the Ginkūnai branch of Šiauliai district municipal culture center "Šaltinis" (conductor B. Andriukaitienė, accomp. J. Narvilienė) and the women's choir of the Rozalim Culture House of Pakruoj cultural center "Gaudulė" (conductor J. Skorupskienė, accomp. R. Vaigauskaitė).

The concert that took place on the eve of the Day of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania was not only an event, but also a reminder that our past is our roots, which we must nurture and protect for future generations. During the festive concert, historian, professor Arūnas Gumuliauskas and engineer, active citizen Jonas Grigaliūnas shared historical insights.

More events are organized in Šiauliai to make February 16 meaningful. Concerts, various campaigns, excursions, exhibitions and educational activities will take place in the city of Saulės on the national day. 12 o'clock A solemn commemoration of the Day of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania will take place in Resurrection Square. 1 p.m. everyone will flock to the concert "Colours of the Motherland" which will be held in the Šiauliai Cultural Center.
