On the occasion of the Theater Day, the people of Šiauliai were rewarded with performances

In 2024 March 27 The International Theater Day was celebrated in Šiauliai Cultural Center. The people of Šiauliai and the guests of the city had the opportunity to see even two performances, including the premiere. The Šiauliai Cultural Center theater studio "Gūžta" (artistic director Lina Jankauskaitė-Peleckienė) gave a serious, existential question-filled poetry performance "Kukučio ieškonės", and the amateur theater "Durys" (artistic director Virginijus Dargis) ended the festive day with a contemporary detective comedy " 8 loving women". The organizers are happy that the events dedicated to the Theater Day attracted a large group of theater lovers who rewarded the theater with a burst of applause.
The organizer is the Šiauliai Cultural Center.

On International Theater Day, the Šiauliai Cultural Center was filled with theater-loving people. Here the people of Šiauliai and the guests of the city were treated to performances. The festive day began with the premiere of the theater studio "Gūžta" of the Šiauliai Cultural Center - a poetry performance based on Marcelijus Martinaitis "Kukučio baladės". The collection of poems by Marcelijas Martinaitis, "Kukučio baladės", published in 1977, is one of the most famous and appreciated works, significant not only as a literary object, but also as a cultural phenomenon. The work explores existential questions, which were also touched upon by the young actors of the theater studio. In the performance, the original music of the "punktò" project sounded expressively, which complemented "Kukučis pokažanes" and gave it a unique charm.

"Thank you to everyone who contributed to the creation of the performance. Don't lose your Cuckoo, don't stop looking. Happy International Theater Day!", Lina Jankauskaitė-Peleckienė, artistic director of the theater studio "Gūžta" of the Šiauliai Cultural Center, said after the play's premiere.

The evening of March 27 was crowned by the Šiauliai Cultural Center Amateur Theater's performance "Durys" based on Robert Ferm Tom's play "8 loving women". The modern detective comedy full of French flair, full of elegant humor, graceful wit and unpredictable twists of the plot did not leave anyone indifferent. The play told how, on Christmas Eve, the usual morning peace was disturbed by the screams of the maid Louise, who had been murdered in her bedroom by her master. The characters were frantically trying to figure out who is the killer, or maybe the killer? The show gave not only funny moments, but also made us think about the fragility and secrets of human relationships.

The organizers are happy that the events of the International Theater Day attracted a full hall of spectators. This only proves that the theater occupies an important place in Šiauliai, and free cultural events give unforgettable moments that remain in the memory and heart for a long time.
