The festival-competition "Dawn Star" is gaining momentum

In 2024 May 17 In the culture center of Šiauliai and in the streets of the city, dancers dressed in luxurious costumes twirled throughout the day. Since the morning, part I of the 17th international dance festival-competition "Morning Star" took place - folk dance. In the evening, the participants and guests of the city gathered for the official opening concert of the event, where the winners of the first part of the competition were awarded. The evening was crowned by folk dances "Shoka visi", which gathered a crowd of dance lovers.

May 17 The morning at the Šiauliai Cultural Center began with part I of the 17th international dance festival-competition "Aušrinė žvaigždė". Here, 30 folk dance lovers in 5 age groups demonstrated their talent. The contestants who came not only from Lithuania, but also from foreign countries tried to impress the commission with their performances, with their artistry, dance composition, performance of the work.

In the afternoon, P. Višinskis square was invited to have fun and get positive emotions by the children's day dance together with the heroes of fairy tales and the children of "Laura studio". Immediately after, the official opening concert of the festival took place, where performances were given by children's dance groups and performers, and the winners of the first part of the competition were awarded. The young dancers did not leave anyone indifferent - the gathered audience accompanied each evening's performance with applause.

The evening of May 17 ended with energetic folk dances "Shoka visi", in which both the participants and guests of the festival, as well as the spectators of the event, danced. The musical background for the event was created by the children's and youth folklore ensemble of Šiauliai Dainai Music School "Vieversėlis" (director A. Stankus).

The organizers remind that on May 18 XVII international dance festival-competition "Morning Star" will continue. That day from 10 a.m. in the morning, part II of the competition will be held, where modern dance lovers will demonstrate their talent. In the evening, we will receive guest performances: the Czech folklore ensemble "Ondraš" (director Lt. Col. Mgr. Aleš Krkoška) and the Kaunas Dance Theater "Aura" will host a concert program on P. Višinskis Square, which will present the dance performance "I'd like to be a fern flower".

On the last day of the festival-competition, May 19, at 10 a.m. The Šiauliai Cultural Center will host part III of the 17th international dance festival-competition "Aušrinė žvaigdė" - classical dance. The program will include the closing concert of the festival and awards for the winners.
