Children's laughter and joyful eyes opened the summer in Šiauliai

In 2024 June 1 In the central city park of Šiauliai, summer was welcomed with the traditional celebration "I am a small Šiauliai" that united the small inhabitants of the city. The event, which has been in existence for two decades, gathered families in one place this year to have fun, educate and socialize in the fresh air on a sunny day. The highlight of the celebration was the awarding ceremony of "Little Šiaulietis" certificates, during which the Mayor of Šiauliai, Artūras Visockas, congratulated almost 500 little ones born in the city of Saulė and who came to the city's central park.
The organizers are the Civil Registry Department of the Šiauliai City Municipality Administration, the Šiauliai Culture Center.


On June 1, the central park of the city of Šiauliai became a space of joy and entertainment for children. Here, for the twentieth time, "I - the little Šiaulietis" have been gathering since 2023 for the ceremony of honoring the small people of Šiauliai. May 1st until 2024 May 1st Children, their parents, brothers, sisters and grandparents are registered in the city of Saules. At the special event, the newborns were awarded with symbolic certificates, cups and balloons, which were presented by the Mayor of Šiauliai, Artūras Visockas.

During the celebration, the park came alive, and positive emotions, smiles and laughter of the little ones became the decoration of the event. For more than two hours, entertainment and education were on for the joy of the people of Šiauliai and the guests of the city. Here, the partners of the celebration invited to have fun, dressing up with artistic, temporary tattoos, police officers and their loyal helper Amsis introduced the police service, congratulated and awarded balloons to the little people from Šiauliai. During the event, children tested Early rider bicycles and had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a virtual race with a Wahoo simulator.

The Šiauliai Cultural Center invited students in grades 5-12 to create illustrative pictures related to childhood. In the plein air "Piešiu vaikkėsta" young artists created their creative masterpieces using the graffiti technique.

During the whole event, the little ones were waiting for more activities and entertainment offered by the festival's partners. The organizers of the event were happy that the meaningful time spent and new acquaintances made by parents and children became part of the opening of the sunny summer.
