Šiauliai danced with all of Lithuania

in 2024 September 13 Šiauliai joined the initiative of the Lithuanian National Cultural Center and organized the ethnic culture campaign "Visa Lietuva šoka" in their city. More than 200 participants from various culture, dance institutions, schools and other folk dance lovers dressed up in the entertainment hall "Maxas" of the Šiauliai Cultural Center. The organizers are happy that the people of Šiauliai once again proved how strongly the citizens cherish the traditions of their country.
The organizer in the city is the Šiauliai Cultural Center. The initiator of the campaign is the Lithuanian National Cultural Center.

The Šiauliai Cultural Center, responding to the invitation of the Lithuanian National Cultural Center, organized the campaign "Visa Lietuva šoka" in its city. This year, accompanied by the instrumental group of the children's and youth folklore ensemble "Vieversėlis" of the Šiauliai School of Music School (director Arūnas Stankus), folklore, folk and other dance groups, members of dance clubs, all who learn and love Lithuanian dance gathered. True, this year the event was traditionally supposed to take place in Resurrection Square, but due to nature's antics - rain - the action was moved to the Šiauliai Cultural Center entertainment hall "Maksas".

Neither the bad weather nor the changed location of the event prevented the folk dance-loving townspeople from having a wild Friday night. The initiative, which has been organized since 2015, this year attracted more than 200 participants, who energetically stepped on the parquet floor of the entertainment hall. "Thank you to the organizers for such a wonderful initiative. This holiday is a great opportunity to meet old friends and meet new ones. I am glad that I became a part of this event", the Šiauliai shared his impressions.

Representatives of different generations and communities came together on a packed dance floor, creating an atmosphere of fellowship and joy. "Today I realized that traditions are not only the past, but also the future. Dance connects generations and strengthens our community. Thank you for reminding us what is most important," said a Šiauliat woman who participated in the event.

The organizers remind that the aim of the campaign is to create a sense of community through traditional dances, to strengthen the cultural identity of Lithuanians and to nurture folk traditions.
