Spring melodies flowed in the Šiauliai Cultural Center

On the afternoon of April 5, 2025, a traditional event took place in the Chamber Hall of the Šiauliai Cultural Center – the 16th Vocal Ensemble Festival “Spring Melodies”. This year, 9 vocal ensembles, duets and soloists from Akmenė, Šilalė, Kybartai, Jurbarkas, Raseiniai, Linkuva, Šiauliai district and Šiauliai city cultural centers participated in the event, who created a special musical atmosphere with their voices. This festival is part of a living tradition – it fosters the art of vocal music, creates a cozy, community atmosphere that enriches the cultural life of the city.
Organizer – Šiauliai Cultural Center.

The tradition of vocal ensembles in Lithuania is deeply rooted and inseparable from our cultural identity. Singing together not only preserves the traditions of folk music, but also creates new, modern vocal music. “Today, when technology changes the perception of music, live ensemble music remains special in its authenticity. It allows both performers and listeners to experience a real, unsynthesized sound that captivates with sincerity and emotional power. Therefore, nurturing vocal ensembles is not only a continuation of the tradition, but also a meaningful cultural mission,” said Aušra Brijūnienė, Head of the Amateur Art Department of the Šiauliai Cultural Center.

The vocal ensemble festival in Saulė is organized every spring by the vocal ensemble “Dainora” of the Šiauliai Cultural Center, whose members are energetic, talented and sincerely devoted women to music. Their voices not only sound songs, but also friendship, fellowship and love for music. The collective is led by long-time artistic director Ramutė Majauskienė, and the ensemble itself actively participates in various festivals and celebrations, glorifying its land and captivating vocal music lovers.

“The vocal ensemble festival “Spring Melodies” is a long-standing tradition that unites talented collectives and music lovers from all over Lithuania. Every year this festival becomes a symbol not only of song, but also of togetherness, warmth and creative inspiration. We are glad that Šiauliai Cultural Center can be a part of this beautiful tradition,” said Ramutė Majauskienė, artistic director of the vocal ensemble “Dainora” of the Šiauliai Cultural Center.

On April 5, the festive event was attended not only by the organizer of the event, the vocal ensemble “Dainora” of the Šiauliai Cultural Center (artistic director R. Majauskienė), but also by guests from various corners of Lithuania: Akmenė r. sav. cultural center Papilė Cultural House women's vocal ensemble "Pilė" (director D. Savickienė), Šiauliai District Municipality Cultural Center structural unit Bridai Cultural Center Aukštelkė women's vocal ensemble "Šermukšnėlė" (director B.
